115 Mastering Self Care, Interview with Michelle Den Boer
After a car accident, Michelle developed fibromyalgia. Michelle found traditional medicine, including pain meds, weren’t working for her. Michelle and her doctor put her in therapy, both to learn how to change her Type A personality, but also to learn about self care. This led to pain management mostly through yoga, working out, and eating well. As Michelle mastered her own self care, she began coaching others, first at her gym, and now with executives.

Why is self love important?
Self-love is important because if you don’t take care of and love yourself, how can you really think you can love someone else?
What was the number one thing that was holding you back from accepting self love?
Probably feeling selfish.
Who is one person who has changed your life for the better?
My son. Wanting to be a better person and a better example for him.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
I think probably to follow your passion and believe in yourself.
What is a self care habit that you practice regularly?
Taking a bath with Epsom salts and lavender.
Can you share a resource, an app or a tool that we can use to build our selfcare practice.
I use meditation.
