111 Nurturing Self, Interview with Michelle Warner

Michelle was finishing graduate school when the market crashed. Instead of a job in Rome, she was offered a job in Detroit with the same company. Michelle moved on to Colorado, where she successfully nurtured a non-profit for many years. Michelle became ill, and was forced to resign. She spent a year nursing herself back to health. During this time, she discovered the importance of self care and self love.

What was the number one thing that was holding you back from accepting self love?

That nobody told me it existed. I didn’t know about it, so I didn’t know I was holding back from accepting it.

Who is one person who has changed your life for the better?

Two of my closest girlfriends. We get together at least two weekends a year.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

“Baby steps.”

What is a self care habit that you practice regularly?

I really am in to Indian medicine.
