102 Perceived Perfection, Interview with Tatiana Mone

Tatiana started out as a career focused young woman climbing the corporate ladder. She gained a large amount of weight quickly. She left corporate America to lose the weight, and to find herself again. Tatiana began her journey as a health and fitness coach. After a particularly difficult struggle, Tatiana asked herself what some of her loved ones would say, if they knew the situation she was in. In her heart, she knew their answer was more loving than the answer she was giving herself.

Q & A 

Why do you believe self love is important.

Because it is the foundation to loving others. If you don’t love yourself, you don’t have the capacity to love others.

What was the number one thing that was holding you back from accepting self love?

Perceived perfection.

Who is one person who has changed your life for the better?

My husband. He is absolutely amazing. He loves me. He loves our daughter.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

My grandfather would say, “Your name is all you have. So no matter what happens, your name is not worth any amount of money. Because your name is your character.”

What is a self care habit that you practice regularly?

Getting my hair done.

Do you have a favorite quote?

“For I know the plans that I have for you.” It’s part of a bible verse, talking about God’s perfect plan for your life.

Can you share with us a resource or an app that we can use to help our own self care practice grow?

One tool I like to use is an app like “My Fitness Pal,” to track your food.

What book are you reading right now?

Who Moved My Cheese, by Spencer Johnson.

What is the one thing that you are most passionate about?

Being a mother.
