10 Simple Truths
Here’s some quotes that remind me of the simple truths in life- beginning with one of my favorites:
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” -Roald Dahl
“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” – Shel Silverstein
“Little by little, one travels far” – J.R.R. Tolkien
“Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” – E. E. Cummings
“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m possible!'” -Audrey Hepburn
“What you do today can improve all of your tomorrows” -Ralph Marston
“You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream” -C.S. Lewis
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started” -Mark Twain
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” -Arthur Ashe
“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work.” -Emile Zola
I hope that these quotes help you as much as they’ve helped me- when I’m feeling down or discouraged I can always find hope in the words of others. Usually those words lead me right back to where I started: myself.
I would love to know what your favorite simple truth is and maybe I can adopt it for my own little family of inspiration. Tell me in the comments below.
