074 Who Am I?, Interview with Patricia Leblanc
After being diagnosed in 2004 with major depression, Patricia Leblanc began exploring the critical question, “Who am I?” She took the brave step of moving from a small town where everyone knew her in the context of her family, to Montreal, where people saw her simply as “Patricia.” This was the secret sauce that led her to answering the critical question, “Who am I?”
When you start loving yourself, you’re going to start putting yourself first. You are going to be able to establish boundaries. You will be healthier, and happier.
What was the number one thing that was holding you back from accepting self love?
Myself. I used to beat myself up. I had to be the perfect person. And nobody’s perfect.
Who is one person who has changed your life for the better?
My dad. He is chronically ill, but he never complains. That has served me very well, especially in challenging times.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Be yourself. That is when you are going to be able to have a huge impact on the people around you and the whole world.
What is a self care habit that you practice regularly?
Going for a nice long walk in nature.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“You can be, do, achieve anything that you really want.”
Can you share with us a resource or an app that we can use to help our own self care practice grow?
